Leonid Purygin
A renowned artist of the Soviet underground and a participant in the landmark Sotheby’s Moscow auction of 1988. His art combines a distinctive skillful style, a complex and carefully developed system of images, narrative composition, original formats (e.g. hinges) and a special language of symbols. The artist’s works are in the collection of the Tretyakov Gallery and the MMOMA.
